Red Ribbon Week!!!!

                    

Red Ribbon Week for 2104-2015 takes place from Monday, October 27th, 8:15 am to Friday October 31st, 3:15 pm. At A-C Central we make Red Ribbon week a big deal. The reason we do this is because we want students to know the effects and consequences of using drugs and alcohol. This week we are going doing tons of events to show support for Red Ribbon week. To kick off we had a powder-puff football game. The teams were Juniors and Sophomores against Freshman and Seniors. Throughout the week each students is given a bracelet to wear. To be able to win prizes, students must participate in dress up and by wearing the bracelet. This is what the scheduled events are for this week:

Monday Oct.27: America Day, Powder-Puff Football game. Here are the pictures of some of the students who participated in dress up.







Tuesday Oct.28: Time Travel day- Don't let drugs destroy your future or your past. Watch a video and answer questions.








Wednesday Oct.29: Pajama Day-Don’t let drugs destroy your dreams. Mix it up at lunch!




Thursday Oct.30:Hero Day-Be a heroine, don’t do heroin. Chain to hang around school.

Friday Oct.31:Halloween Day- Say boo to drugs.Volleyball Game.


Every morning public service announcements will be done by students in attempt to inform their fellow students of the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Everyday 2 red treat bags will be given out at lunch (one for middle school and one for high school) if the students name gets drawn and they are wearing their bracelet - the win! The winners for Monday were: Serena.N.(high school) and Robbie.N. (middle school).

5th and 6th grades will be writing a letter to themselves in their English class. They are going to write about why they will choose to be drug free in high school. They will receive their letters back when they enter 9th grade. 7th through 12th grade will be participating in an essay contest.They will choose one topic out of four  write their essay on. The top 2 essays one from middle school and one from high school will receive several prizes including a $25 gift card from Walmart.

At lunch there will be containers of candy corn set out for each student to guess how many is in it. The one who comes the closest will win the candy.

All week door decorating contests will take place and the doors will be judged by staff who do not have a homeroom. The winning homeroom will receive a prize.
